I sat down yesterday to accomplish a dual purpose: 1 to create a Christmas present for the girls' teacher and 2 to display this gift in my Open House. #2 was my primary objective!
With that in mind I found this perfect poem to go on the outside of this heard shaped dish. It reads "Teacher, I would thank you from the bottom of my heart, but for you my heart has no bottom." I also put the teachers' name on the inside of the dish.
After spending two hours on the poem itself I decided there is no way I can display this in my Open House. I can not afford to spend that much time on any one thing, especially something like this! Good grief. So I felt like I was spinning my wheels yesterday and didn't get my primary goal accomplished. I now have to re-do this project but hey, one Christmas present down.
I did not heart this project!

Very cute! Derek had Mrs. Stengl at Hassler 2 years ago. I hope Cali is having a good year w/her. She'll definitely love this gift. Too bad it took so long to make.
